WHAT WE BELIEVE

The Pieces That Define a Space.

A space filled with beautiful things can still feel incomplete.

Every choice within a space contributes to how it is experienced. Thoughtful design begins with thoughtful decisions. There is a quiet difference between a space that has been furnished and one that has been truly considered and it often comes down to one piece.

The one that anchors the space without effort. The one that exists in that particular space between sculpture and function. The one that makes people pause.

That is what we make.

The things you live with carry the energy of how they were made. A piece shaped by hand for one specific space offers something no off-the-shelf object can, a quality of presence that is felt before it is understood.

You know it the moment you walk into a space that has it.

HOW WE MAKE

Every Kora Piece Is Shaped Slowly, Layer By Layer

Crafted By Hand

It begins with a hand-formed composite mixed-media structure, carefully built to define the form, scale and structural strength of every piece.

Multiple layers of resin are applied and refined by hand, creating depth, texture and a finish that cannot be achieved through mass production.

Sculpted detailing, metallic accents and pigments are introduced gradually until every surface feels balanced and complete.

Every Kora object is individually made and hand finished, making subtle variations part of its identity.

The Pour

Resin is poured gradually in controlled layers, creating strength and visual depth.

The Texture

Every surface is refined by hand until the desired texture, movement and character appear.

The Finish

Metallic detailing and pigments complete every piece with warmth, richness and individuality.

The Founders

Four People. Different Strengths. One Shared Conviction

A shared belief in creating objects with character, purpose and permanence.

Shilpi Gaur

Founder & Creative Director
Design · Material Innovation · Brand Vision

Shilpi has spent her career asking one question of every object she makes: does this earn its place? Her work is rooted in the belief that form exists to serve feeling that the highest thing a piece can do is make you feel something the moment you walk into the same space as it. She leads the creative direction of every piece Kora makes, from the first mark on paper to the last hand on the surface.

Vijaya Khurana

Co-Founder
Art Direction · Traditional Forms · Craft Heritage

Vijaya has an instinct for what makes an object feel timeless rather than current and that instinct comes from decades spent inside Indian craft traditions and art forms that predate trends entirely. Her presence in the studio is why every Kora piece carries a sense of permanence. Designed not for a moment, but to outlast several.

Shruti Nagpal

Co-Founder
Client Relations · Hospitality · Project Delivery

Shruti is the person who makes sure what gets imagined actually gets made and that it arrives exactly right. She has delivered large-format commissions across India and internationally, which means she understands both the ambition of a brief and the discipline required to honour it. She leads client relationships and project execution, and takes both personally.

Mona Sachdeva

Co-Founder
Aesthetics · Curation · Space & Light

Mona looks at a space the way a composer listens to a room for what it is reaching towards. Her eye for visual coherence and material sensitivity is what gives the Kora collection its consistency across very different forms and scales. She brings the artistic and the practical into the same conversation. For her, they have always been the same thing.

FOR INTERIOR DESIGNERS & ARCHITECTS

You Already know What a Space is Capable of

The briefs get more specific. Clients have seen more, travelled more, and their sense of what makes a space truly singular has grown sharper. The piece that would complete a project, the one with genuine presence, real material depth, the right scale is often the hardest to find.

Kora Living works directly with designers, architects, and hospitality consultants on projects that call for something beyond what a catalogue can offer. Custom dimensions, exclusive finishes, a consistent material language across a suite of objects, all made for the specific project, with the specific space in mind.

A direct line to the studio. A conversation, a brief, and a piece made for exactly where it is going.
Tell us about the space. We will take it from there.
